After living in my warm, cozy home for over 9 months, I received an eviction notice on April 4, 2007. It all started at 2:30 a.m. that day. Mom went in to the hospital to be induced since I had already overstayed my lease by 10 days. Yes, the hospital does inductions in the middle of the night - just to avoid the hustle and bustle during the day. The nurse started the induction at about 5:00 a.m. and then we waited. And waited. By 10:00, Mom was in lots of pain, so an epidural was in order. The next 10 hours after that were a breeze! Why didn't we ask for that sooner?
At 8:30 p.m., the nurse and doctor decided it was time for me to leave my little home. This wasn't going to be as easy as the past 10 hours had been. I was positioned face-up, so the doc let Mom know that it may take a little while and a little extra work. But Mom was determined and, along with some great coaching from Dad, I was born at 9:57 p.m., all 7 pounds, 10 ounces of me.
Mom, Dad and I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I got to meet all of my grandparents and spent lots of time being held by Mom and Dad. Maybe this eviction wasn't all that bad!
